EFFECTS OF THE SEGREGATED FEE OPT OUT PROPOSAL

Dear Valued StudentPrint Customers,

Our hope is to raise awareness about the effects of the state budget proposal allowing students to opt out of paying segregated fees and how that will affect you and StudentPrint. We have always truly valued your business and now it is more important to us than ever.

StudentPrint is a self-sustaining student managed non-profit print shop that provides students with hands on management experiences. We rely on business from student organizations and services that receive student fees.

As the state budget develops throughout spring and summer, we will continue to monitor the situation. As it currently stands, these are our primary concerns:

     · StudentPrint generates 30% of our revenue from grant-funded printing. Loss of grant funding will compromise the quality of student life and impact our entire customer base due to the likelihood of cost increases and reduced services.

     · Student Activity Center (SAC) maintenance is funded with student fees. We are at risk of losing our physical location along with student controlled spaces for meeting, studying, and over 60 student organizations.

     · The ASM bus pass, funded with student fees and primarily distributed through StudentPrint would be at risk.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

SPRING BREAK HOURS

We will be closed on Friday, March 17th, until Monday, March 27th for Spring Break!
